General requirements- Norm UNE EN 420:2004

Norm EN 420/03+AC/06 is a reference standard to be called up as appropriate by the specif European Standards relevant or applicable to protective gloves. All the certified gloves will fulfill all these requirements:

Design: the gloves must be designed to provide the highest protection levels for the activity they are conveived for. In addition, they must be comfortable and it must be easy to put on and take off and the sewings must be made in such a way that the protection levels aren´t reduced.

Water penetration: in those uses in which it is necessary that the gloves are water-resistant, the gloves can be classified from level 1 to 4, according the penetration time.

Harmlessness: the gloves must not expose the user to additional risks, this is why the PH level (between�3.5�and 9.5),�the�chrome content (Cr6+), the fact that the glove can generate dermatitis(> 3ppm)� and the content of proteins free of latex are controlled.

Cleanliness: the essays must be made on a new glove and if it is necessary after the higher number of washings. The protection levels should not vary after all these washings.

Electrostatic properties: if it is necessary, the electrostatic properties of a glove can be checked according to the appropriate norm. This implies that the informative leaflet can be added, but this fact does not mean that the pictogram can be put.

Sizes: the gloves must adapt to the normalized measures, regarding the lengh and circumference of the hand and to the final use they are conceived for.

Dexterity: the gloves must offer the highest dexterity level possible, according to the use they are conceived for. The dexterity  is classified  according to 5 levels.

Transmision and absorption of water vapour:  if it is possible, and in order to assure the users comfort the gloves must allow the transmision or absorption of water vapour.
